Back in Time to Richmond

We went to visit our friends the McCormicks in Richmond, Virginia. We loved the wide boulevards, beautiful buildings and southern flavor. We were surprised that they had many huge memorials to Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee and that they still have smoking in restaurants. We were pleased that the McCormicks had indoor plumbing and electricity.

Our favorite thing we saw was the church where Patrick Henry gave his "Give me liberty or give me death" speech. It was amazing to see where the Virginia House of Burgesses met and to see where George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and the other Virginians decided to fight the British.

The McCormick's son Tucker is two and a half and really cute. He made us excited to have a boy. We may have too high of expectations as he was quiet for all of Stake Conference and sat quietly during the tour guide's presentation at the church.

We loved Richmond, too. That's where Matt decided to go to Law School. I was surprised how Southern it feels.
As for the very strange, quiet 2 1/2 year old, just compare him to Ginny at Christmas time to get a composite of what 2 year olds are really like.
