Southern Road Trip

To celebrate Valentines we traveled down South over President's Day weekend. We stayed two nights with Lizzie & Matt Stevens in Chapel Hill, NC, and stopped to see the beautiful campuses of Duke and UNC. Then we headed to Charleston, South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia. We definitely experienced the Southern hospitality, and ate some great BBQ, grits and catfish. On our way home we stopped in Richmond to see the McCormicks and ate even more great BBQ.

Creepy elephants we saw in NC.
Don't ask Zach about the most disgusting bathroom he's ever seen.

Fountain at Forsyth Park in Savannah

We walked up and down Bull & Abercorn streets in Savannah and loved walking through most of their 22 squares filled with huge trees, park benches and monuments.

It happened to be the Southeastern Wildlife Expo the weekend we were in Charleston. They had a petting zoo with very interesting creatures, and many extra people in the city

looks like a great roadtrip. My favorite is Henry's little bedroom in the hotel. Love it!
