Friday night we went on our first official date as new parents. Our friends, the Woodburys, kindly watched Henry for us. We saw the Flight of the Concords live at GW. The Flight of the Concords have earned their self-proclaimed status of "#1 Folk Parody Band in New Zealand." They are certainly the most well-known folk-parody band from New Zealand. They were hilarious. They played all their hits, even though they just came out with a new album they played mostly old stuff. Some of the highlights included Jermaine playing a new songs on an electronic toy saxophone and also the song "Albi" about a racist dragon who overcomes his racism through an interaction with an Albanian boy. They also showed their serious side comparing love to a roll of tape in this song. Sunday, May 11, 2008
