Christmas 2009

Christmas this year was much more of a success with H than last year. He actually loved the toys from us, Santa & his grandparents! He was very excited to get a basketball/slide combo, a Little People Barn & animals, a scary roaring gorilla and a lawn mower. He didn't seem as excited to have received new plaid little man pajamas (see below). We were so happy to still have the luxury of sleeping in until 8:00 AM Christmas morning. For some reason we couldn't get him to touch his stocking- so pulling out and unwrapping the presents was left to mom and dad. Rather than trying to do a homemade Christmas like last year we kept things simple with presents to a minimum and we were able to go to bed at a decent hour Christmas Eve. We enjoyed Christmas Eve dinner with my family then headed to the annual Kaelin Bros Christmas Eve concert. It was so peaceful and meaningful for me this year. We had our first Christmas morning with only our little family which we loved. Then we headed to the Derrs for the multi-course french meal with only a few incidents with the candles attached to the china.

Henry has as much love for shopping as his dad (whose mantra is "online shopping only please")

H honestly didn't forgive us for two days following this incident with Santa at the ward Christmas party.

Zach got what he has always wanted Christmas Eve: red long johns. He wouldn't let me post his picture sporting the new duds, but this will give you the idea...

Zach has vowed to wear them every Christmas Eve as long as he can continue to fit in them. I found him the real deal, inherited from my grandma, and it even has the oh-so-revealing back flap.
