Henry the Pious
Ever since this boy mastered the art of folding his arms, he does it all the time. Before we eat any food (including snacks of goldfish), even if I don't remember to pray, I look at Henry and his arms are folded ready to say a prayer. When a second course is brought out of, say, toast after applesauce, he folds his arms again ready for another prayer. Sometimes when we first get him out of the crib in the morning, he looks at Zach with a very serious face and folds his arms. When a song ends, especially at church, Henry folds his arms ready for the prayer. Even when strangers stand resting their arms in a folded position, Henry follows suit, ready to pray. Now, he hasn't mastered the art of closing his eyes, and if a prayer is longer than a few "please bless" and "we thank thee," he starts to dig in. But I think the cutest thing happened the other day when he quietly folded his arms and said a few gibberish words reverently.
