HENRY IS FINALLY HERE!

It's been a pretty incredible couple of days. On the morning of April 17 (Thursday), at about 6:00 AM, Alicia woke Zach up with the words "it's time" (we always joked that in movies about babies that is always what the calm wife says while the frantic husband squeels out of the drieveway knocking over the neighbor's garbage cans) We drove to the hospital with no traffic which was lucky because the way to Sibley Hospital is along Massachusetts Ave. where the Vatican Embassy is located and the street had been partially blocked off for the pope's visit and was a traffic disaster.

We checked into the hospital at 7:00 AM and Henry came at 7:03 PM. It was so incredible. Zach was not sure he wanted to be in the room, but he ended up holding Alicia's leg during the pushing and cutting the cord.

This is him a few minutes after he was born.

7:03 pm? Either way, that's a pretty quick labor, congrats to Alicia and Henry, and Zach too.

Congratulations! He is darling. I can't believe you delivered three minutes after checking in. Way to go.
